The youth council is a group of middle and high school students who voluntarily participate in activities to promote a drug-free community and lifestyle. These eighth – 12th graders are representatives from the city, county, and private schools in the area who take a stand with us and believe in the mission of the partnership. They donate community hours monthly and their activities include: learning and performing skits and presentations; writing and producing public service announcements for television, radio, and the local newspapers; and peer mentoring with younger kids in schools and affiliated agencies. They also represent the Dothan-Houston County Substance Abuse Partnership Youth Council at any and all public functions the agency attends. There are a few requirements but they are easy! So take a look at the app and come to a meeting. It's great fun and you'll meet some really great young people!
If you are interested in joining the youth council, please contact us or print out the following application. Look forward to seeing you at the meeting!
