Peer
Mentoring Program
The Youth Council Peer Mentors are a
group of high school youth who voluntarily participate in activities to
promote a drug-free community and lifestyle. These 9th 12th grade
youth are representatives from the City, County, and private schools in
our area who take a stand with us and believe in the mission of the
Dothan-Houston County Substance Abuse Partnership. These youth donate at
least 20 community hours a month and their activities include: learning
and then performing skits and presentations, writing and producing public
service announcements for television, radio, and the local newspapers, a
monthly Teen Talk show aired on a local cable company, and peer mentoring
with younger youth in schools and affiliated agencies. These youth also
represent the Dothan-Houston County Substance Abuse Partnership Youth
Council at any and all public functions the agency attends.
If you are interested in joining the
Youth Council, please contact either the school personnel listed below or
you may call (334) 699-2813.
