The Mission of the Dothan-Houston County Substance Abuse Partnership is to bring together all public and private educational institutions, health organizations, social services, law enforcement agencies, and any other affiliated agencies, and businesses as well as the private citizens, in a collaborative effort to create a climate of intolerance for tobacco, alcohol, and other drug use and abuse in Dothan-Houston County.
The specific goal of the agency is to create a sense of ownership of the problem by the community, and to involve as many citizens, both young and old, as possible in the community coalition to develop and implement needed solutions. In this effort, specific emphasis is to be placed on five major objectives:

To achieve reductions in alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use and abuse by youth, adults, and seniors.
To achieve reductions in all drug-related consequences.
To reduce workplace drug use and abuse.
To inform, educate, and to use prevention strategies to raise the community's awareness on substance abuse and related issues.
To be a referral source and clearinghouse for substance abuse and related information.

Volunteers
The Substance Abuse Partnership actively recruits volunteers that are willing to contribute their special talents to the fight against substance abuse in Dothan-Houston County. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us.
